After the bridge
Next Steps for 8th Grade Math
Finishing the bridge is a strong start. Use this page to decide what to review and how to keep confidence growing.
If the Bridge Felt Comfortable
Keep skills fresh with a few review problems each week. Pay special attention to rational numbers, equations, slope, linear relationships, exponents, scientific notation, and geometry.
If the Bridge Felt Challenging
Choose two or three days to repeat. It is okay to rebuild slowly. A steady review plan is more helpful than rushing.
Skills to Keep Practicing
- Rational number operations with fractions, decimals, and negatives
- Writing, solving, and checking equations
- Connecting proportional relationships to slope
- Reading tables, graphs, and simple linear rules
- Using exponents, powers of 10, and scientific notation
- Reasoning with right triangles, distance, and geometry diagrams
Family Check-In
Ask: What feels stronger now? What still feels confusing? What would help the first month of 8th grade math feel more manageable?
